Shiatsu

Shiatsu originates from Japan and is based on the Five Phase Theory (Five Element Theory) of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In a Shiatsu session, pressure made by the finger, thumb, palm, and elbow are used to follow meridians in the body. These are energy pathways that correspond to internal organs. With the aim of achieving energetic balance of the body, mind, and spirit, an assessment and treatment of excess and deficiency of the Hara (core area/abdomen) and the corresponding meridians will be done.
